The Taylor Swift Law

I am a Swifty, No lie.

And so is my leadership mentor, Robin Sharma, from whom I am borrowing this idea.

Taylor stokes all my emotions. She reminds me of what crazy love feels like, pumps me up during workouts, and inspires me to keep my side of the street clean.

Everyone is talking about her, and with me being only 2 degrees of separation from her, there has been a lot of talk about her in my inner circle. I know how great she treats her fans and family. I was at a dinner party when a woman in my group said “Why would you want to meet her? She’s a bitch!” I retorted, “Do you even know her?”

It seemed like Miss Americana all over again. Just another hater spewing envy and darkness.

But she did not listen to her detractors. Their opinions are just that. Opinions.

She moved forward. She expanded and became stronger. Her dream of creative freedom became a reality and all of the darkness hurled at her was transformed into fuel for her greatness.

Having total acceptance of what Is. Realizing resistance always brings persistence. So yeah, acknowledging outside criticism seems hard. But try it. Identify a setback, breathe it in and transform it into the power to fuel your dream.

That is the Law: Use setbacks to make you stronger and use darkness as magic to make your mission real.
